Welcome to the Trackless Trolley and Bus Page!
!
Update 2-2005
!
Most
of these photos came from the
Bus Weekend
we had
in the fall of '04.
They might not be trolleys,
but
some of the photos sure came
out well!
Buses
also played a key role in
keeping trolleys running,
contrary
to what many people believe.
Some routes
didn't
have the traffic to warrant
a trolley, but the
trolley
company was forced to run
them anyway.
In some
cases, buses allowed these
route to be profitable,
keeping
the trolley company in
the black to run trolleys
where
they were really needed.

A
trio of Fishbowls in the parking
lot.

Its
not a bus, but.....
Actually,
it was neat to see that
truck actually run. No smoke,
and no
strange engine noises.....
This
truck is a 1949 Walter from
the City of Somerville, Mass.
It
didn't show up in any of the
photos, but all the flashing lights
on the
cab and boom actually work.
For a truck that large,
it was
even fairly quiet.
Don't remember if it was diesel or gas.

The
Walter takes a spin around
the parking lot.

Normally,
I hate blurry shots.
But the lighting and the subject
of
this one just seem to work.

Not
exactly a little truck.

Note
the flashing lights.
They all work.

Engine
shot.
